Book Cover Competition
The uninhabitable earth.
Working on the The Uninhabitable earth cover implied considering topics such as global warming and climate change. The challenge was to visually represent these topics without expressing them as the earth melting as it is usually portrait. Playing with circle representing the earth and the use of black and white to symbolise that the situation is so urgent that there is no grey areas in this issue. The idea of staring at the abyss while doing nothing to fix the problem was described in the book and the visual response was to use the circle not only as the earth but also as the abyss. But also as a clock, where the title in the front and the spine play as a clock hands. Finally, the human shapes running against the clock while their shades are running in the opposite direction symbolised that even though we are running out of time, we continue to inflict damage to our planet.

Poster Competition
Bologna city.
Reimagining Bologna through its architectural icons, its people and their experience of lockdown and their hope for a restart. Illustrating these elements into the shape of two arches inside a square was the challenge that this competition offered. The idea was to use Bologna’s arches as windows that showed different situations and connected the Bologna in lockdown with the city full of live before the pandemic.
